Haywood Named Region 19 Pitcher of the Year

Freshman softball player Ashlee Haywood (Ewing, NJ/Council Rock North) was named the Region 19 Pitcher of the Year and Garden State Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year. Haywood finished her rookie season with a 21-3 record and was tied for 9th in DII Softball. Haywood had 113 strikeouts in 143 innings pitched and a 2.58 ERA for the season. Haywood threw 21 complete games, 7th most in DII softball and 5 shutouts, which was 10th best in the nation. In addition to being named 1st Team All-Region 19, Haywood was named 1st Team All-GSAC.
